USA Musume - Omake

We were able to interview Hangry & Angry at Sakura-Con this past April 2009 in Seattle, Washington.

Hangry & Angry is a brand of popular Japanese designer h.NAOTO. Illustrator GASHICON draws the gurokawa (grotesque-cute)-style characters "Hangry" and "Angry" who came from the H44 Star Nebula in order to save the world from global warming. They arrived in the present in their time machine dubbed "LOVE MACHINE."

Based off the characters, Hangry & Angry also stars as a 2-member singing unit of Hangry (who might be Yoshizawa Hitomi) and Angry (who might be Ishikawa Rika). They have released their mini-album "Kill Me Kiss Me" on November 19, 2008, and just debuted their new single "Sadistic Dance" at Sakura-Con 2009.

Kimi -- Do you have a favorite anime or manga?

Angry: Hmmm.

Hangry: There are a lot. I can't pick one.

Kimi -- How about any you like so much you'd cosplay from them?

Hangry: Crayon Shin Chan

Angry: Something I like so much I'd cosplay from it? Hmm... definitely Angry.

Stephanie -- Do you have any text blogs you are writing?

Angry: We do not, but we have MySpace.

Hangry: We also have our Oricon Video Blog.

Kimi -- H&A are based off h.Naoto designs. Do you have any input on the designs you wear?

Hangry: I always try to have a matching hairstyle with the fashion. That's how I add my own input.

Stephanie -- If your fans were to go to Japan, what is one place you would recommend them to go?

Hangry: The HANGRY & ANGRY store in Harajuku!

Kimi -- What is your reaction so far in meeting your American fans?

Hangry: Everyone is very sweet and kind.

Angry: And very cute. They also have good fashion. And cosplay.

Hangry: They are very upbeat.

Stephanie -- How has your been in America? Was the trip okay?

Angry: There is a lot of jet lag. Because of the jet lag I keep eating. (laugh)

Hangry: All the eating makes her angry!

Kimi -- You had said your characters are not like your personalities, so how do you get into character before a concert?

Hangry: The fashion, the make up, and also when the fan痴 cheers call us out. With those I will switch into the character.

Stephanie -- Since Hangry & Angry are very related to fashion and h.Naoto, do you plan to do any modeling?

Angry: Oh, in Japan, we have been modeling for Hangry & Angry at the fashion shows.

Stephanie -- I want to go see!

Hangry: If you have a chance, then please come.

Kimi -- (To Angry) Since you like to eat, do you cook or do you always eat out?

Angry: I can cook. But I'm not very good at it.

Hangry: But I've eaten it before and it was delicious.

Kimi -- What make up products do you use to achieve your look? Any brands?

Hangry: Makeup? We leave it to the make up artist.

Angry: Brands? Yeah, we leave it to the make up artist.

Stephanie -- Also, since your hair is so styled all the time, how do you keep it healthy?

Hangry: Hangry...doesn't really take care of it. (laugh) So the makeup artist always gets mad and tells me "Take care of it!" (laugh)

Angry: Really, more difficult is taking off makeup since the eye makeup is so black. It takes a long time to remove it. It is important to take the makeup off afterwards.

Kimi -- Are there any times you don稚 get along, and how do you get over it?

Angry: Hmmmm�. We致e never fought.

Hangry: Nope, never. We致e known each other for so long we really understand each other. It痴 more like a family.

Angry: She's like my older sister.
